Using the farmtek polaris timer requires basic configuration of the timer equipement to prepare it to send data to ShowGrounds.

Here are the configuration steps:

  1. Press “Setup”
  2. Press “Previous Choice” until screen reads “Press ENTER to Exit Setup”
  3. Press “Eyes ON”
  4. Press “Next Choice” until screen reads “Printer Type”
  5. Press “Enter”
  6. Press “Next Choice” until screen reads “*ASCII Float/Hrn”
  7. Press “Enter”
  8. Press “Next Choice” until screen reads “4800 Baud”
  9. Press “Enter”

Once the Farmtek timer is configured check the configuration in ShowGrounds.  Start by opening the in-gate/announcer interface.  Click Timer Settings.  Make the following selections

  1. Type – Set to “Farmtek Polaris”
  2. Configuration should default to 4800 8-1-N
  3. To Save this configuration for the current ring select the “Save To Ring” check box.
  4. Click Save
